When I Say Snell, You Say Cookie

October 30th, 2004

My Grandma Snell apparently made cookies for the Whitworth football radio announcer, and sent them to him at the beginning of today’s game versus Lewis and Clark. Mr. I’m the Whitworth Football Radio Voice (I really don’t know his name. He is the voice of Whitworth football; he may not even have a physical body.) expressed his heartfelt gratitude before the end of the first half of his live broadcast, and then again in the second half, just for good measure.

Listening at work, I thought to myself: “Hey, that’s MY grandma. She made him cookies? Yeah, she would do that.” And then I wondered: “Where are my cookies, grandma?” And then I remembered that I don’t even really like cookies. And being my grandma, she knows this.

This benevolent cookie baking for complete strangers reveals just how warm and gooey my grandma’s heart truly is. And that’s why she’s grandma, and the coolest.

To add to the fun of today, my cousin Kyle (Snell) scored a touchdown at the beginning of the second quarter. Rest assured that he not only has cookies waiting for him at grandma’s, but also bbq’d steak and chicken. I’m just glad that today, I too will be attending these post-game festivities.
