The Alternative: Many A Stick Figure
I give you: what happens when this (artistically illiterate) Literature major is asked to illustrate in ten minutes time the journey on which the two (hilarious, and neurotic, and learn-ed and) female lead characters embark, in the Romantic period novel “Sense and Sensibility,” her resources for said requested illustration including: three highlighters, one book-cover, two pieces of chewing gum, and an uncanny ability to draw lopsided hearts:

To my amazement, my professor actually praised my odyssey-like take on the text, and laughed at my demolishing of the movie-inspired book jacket, and didn’t make me admit in front of the entire class that gum was my chosen adhesive for securing the pictures sufficiently onto the paper.
