Why I Love My Family, A Story In One Gmail Away Message:

March 6th, 2007

“Carpe the poop out of the diem.”

-Brother Will, after learning that Babycarrot Sister was offered a new! exciting! beach-laden! job on Friday.

Living and working on the beach? Um, yes, please.

(Babycarrot Sister, Brother Will. Looking rather beach-y, wouldn’t you say?)

In other job-related news, my sincerest apologies for being M.I.A. from the Internets this past week. I would attempt to make (better, more creative) excuses, but (I don’t have any, and also) the new job, as wonderful and neat! as it is, also keeps me busy from 7:00am until 5:00pm, and well, I’m (just a big wimp, clearly, and also) SO tired when I come home.

“SO tired” being (not so) secret code for “exhausted, borderline sick (hurrah! for extended frigid weather, and me not drying my hair; I’m an idiot) and did I mention that I wake up at 5:15 every morning? And also: that there is no Internets? At work, I mean. Because we work in a cave.* A very new-fangled, neat! looking cave. With drawings of past cave dwellers adorning the walls, and a full kitchen in the break-room.”

But, really! I’m adjusting, and loving it, and am beginning to learn to carve away some additional time throughout the day, and to find new energy reserves, while reminding myself to drink copious amounts of (liquor; heh, just kidding) water. Water is good. Water is cold. Water is the only thing keeping me alive. That, and Chris being so completely wonderful with the morning egg cooking and flower buying and loving me even when I’m walking around threatening to give him the sore throat for which I myself am so thankful.

*Not a cave. The portrayal you see here is completely fictional. Except for the parts that are real. Stunts you see here are performed my professionals. Do NOT attempt. Also: my jokes and analogies are substantially lamer whenever Early Morning is involved.

Happy! Tuesday, all.

good to hear you like your new job. and it’s not like before, when you were jobless, you didn’t abandon us [= the blog] for several days *powts*. no, i’m just kidding. totally kidding… :)

i hope you feel better soon. drink lots of tea, and lemon. and i SWEAR: ginger-tea is the BEST for anything throat/lung/breathing/cough-related. just grate fresh ginger-root [about the size of a golfball for 1.5 liters] and put it in a tea strainer, let soak for 15 minutes + and drink hot. you can add some honey if it’s too spicy… *smoochies*

Gasp! A job without internet access? How ever do you cope? :)

Yay for liking the new job… but also, NO internet? How do you survive the day? They must give a whole lot of work then.

I would love a beach-laden job! Where do I sign up!?

Full time hours are draining! Over a third of your day taken up by work, a third for sleeping…that doesn’t leave much time for making out or eating supper or relaxing. Life gets gobbled up by responsibility but I am glad you are enjoying the new job. They’re lucky to have you.

I’m jealous of your happy job. I don’t have to be jealous of your sore throat, because I have one of my very own!

Happy Sunday!! Must be something going around…everyone seems to be sick. Hope you are feeling better and adjusting to life.

Luck to your sister in her new job. The beach? Maybe she has all the luck already…
