We’ve Got A City Love
This afternoon I cut a post-unpacking rug of sorts, having officially unpacked the last box and having officially hid the few boxes we decided are destined for storage until further notice, or until we forget about them.
It’s been a process, and really, we aren’t even close to finished. A lot of the walls are still barren and at this moment we are being mighty creative with the storage of clothes, as closet space is minimal and we have yet to procure a dresser. But we feel as if we have walked five hundred miles, and we will walk five hundred more come far with regard to de-boxifying our humble abode, and we are feeling fun and fancy free about the lack of clutter, the lack of unpacking left to do, and the hope of extra bedroom and bathroom storage space in the near future.
Lest I bore you with the story about how I have already redecorated the bathroom three times, I bring you: A Tribute To Progress, alternately titled: Who Doesn’t Love Before And Afters?
Entrè vous:

I love that all of the doors have these antique-y glass handles. They are a bit of a trick to open, but the aesthetic is nice.
One of four living room windows:

Living room, before the move-in:

And after:

Where we keep daily clean:

The oh so cozy entryway:

The kitchen:

And kitchen table equipped with large window prime for people-watching over breakfast:

The kitchen-nook, with built-in bookcases we are using for an eclectic sort of storage space:

Last, but certainly not least, our rose-colored bedroom:

Now, if you’ll excuse me, the (newly clean, because I couldn’t show you unpacked! without obsessively cleaning, oh, no!) hardwood floors are calling to me. They want me to skate around them in my new knee-high socks while eating a hot bowl of lentil soup.
I must obey the hardwood floors.

It’s lovely. :) And the light too, that’s also lovely.
You have a beautiful, beautiful new place which I have to come and see in person some time soon :)
I adore the hardwood floors and the fall colors.
Yay, for unpacked boxes. We’re far from it.
xoxo
Beautiful! I love the first photo of the handle :)
Also?
We’ve been here six years and still have unpacked boxes. Sigh.

Thank! you. I can’t imagine moving to and filling a house; I would be unpacking for decades. : )
YAY! Pics of people’s homes have officially become my new most favorite thing to see on blogs!! I feel so connected! :) Thanks for sharing. And GREAT PLACE! Looks very cozy and wonderful.
Wow, your place is GORGEOUS!! I love before and after abode photos, so thanks for sharing yours! :)
Wow. You’re living room is better assembled after a few days than ours is after a year and a half. Not that I’m making comparisons or anything. Ahem.
Whole house looks just lovely.
Hi again. That was an ill-placed contraction (you’re = your) and my frantic efforts to change it before the “post comment” button was completely depressed failed. Utterly.

You are awesome. And I think “ill-placed contraction” would make a great band name.
Wow. The whole place looks so comfy and cozy! (And you’re right…who doesn’t love before and afters?)
I am in love with new place! I’m especially loving that bathroom sink. (That may be the weirdest line I’ve ever written…but there ya have it.)

I love that you love our bathroom sink.
I love the nook, those shelves and the eclectic storage. Very cool.

Thanks! I had NO idea what I was going to do with them at first, but it sort of fell into place as an organized catch-all. Go figure.
Your house, it is too cute for words.
———–
Thank! you. We have a ways to go, but reveling in the progress for a bit is awesome.
Oh your home is beautiful! My great friend just moved to Portland. I hope to visit her soon.
