Because My Office Mailed At Least Two-Hundred This December, And The Guilt, It Was Instant And Hearty

January 19th, 2008

I know the winter holidays are probably officially long over, but I (already bought all of my cards for next year, yes, and) came across these while I was researching green alternatives to corporate holiday cards for work, and was instantly smitten:

Grow A Note holiday cards via Great Green Goods.

“Only recycled post-consumer pulp and cotton is used to manufacture this amazing paper, which is then embedded with wildflower seeds.”

Cards that grow! when you send them: genius!

Bonus points for your neighbors looking at you like you’re crazy when you walk to your flower bed and bury a card or three.

(I also liked Save A Tree cards, especially the part where they donate to The Nature Conservatory for every (free!) holiday card sent.)

Happy! Saturday, all.

    What a great idea!

I’m guessing it would not work if I glued seeds to Stampin’ Up paper?

    Didn’t think so.

Love it! I’ve seen those cards and they’re so lovely. And HOW MUCH DO I LOVE that you’re coming up with an eco-friendly alternative. LOVE. The last few years I’ve purchased my Holiday cards from a charity. World Wildlife Fund has cute cards with baby polar bears and they’re made on recycled paper AND the proceeds go directly to the charity. Warm fuzzies all around. Hugs!

    :) I love those cards!!!

We actually had them at my dad’s funeral, I LOVED the idea of them… but I never planted my card. I didn’t need another sentimental plant reminding me of my dad. So the card just sits in a drawer now. How sad. I should plant it

I would totally plant a Christmas cards.
