I want to thank! everyone for the lovely link and comment loving yesterday and today, re: the new sitely digs and what you think of them.

I’m falling more in love with this design with each passing hour, and not just because most of you really like it, too! (Awesome!) and someone liked it enough yesterday to feature me amidst a group of hilarious and esteemed writers on Alltop.com (Unexpected! and Awesome!).

I’m fast becoming enamored with the overall simplicity of this design, and while, as Neil so nicely asked me yesterday, I don’t think a one column design is “a new trend” by any means (it was difficult for me to even find examples of what I liked about the one column look to show Chris), it’s definitely working for me.

I would venture a guess that the majority of sites I read boast three or at least two column designs, and I think they can work just as well, if not better than a one column layout, depending of course on the information and the sheer volume of said information the author is publishing. I felt like I was overloading all of you with the amount of text in my previously existing three columns, and while the amount of information hasn’t technically changed, I am now able to more easily streamline information into a format that is easier and cleaner to read. Obsessive-Compulsive Kerri, who verily delights in creating myriad folders for EVERYTHING, and who can’t walk out of the office without making sure her desk looks immaculate, is rejoicing.

Switching posting gears, remember when I decided that one of my five resolutions for the year was to train Iggy to do SOMETHING, beyond being utterly adorable and completely spastic?

Apparently my wrists make a great pillow; who knew?

He doesn’t so much “stay” yet, or “fetch my slippers,” or fetch much of anything, really, unless you count the socks Chris likes to leave next to his side of the bed every night, which Iggy delights in grabbing each morning, happily darting about the living room with one of them dangling from his mouth, until he notices that we have noticed and then proceeds hide underneath the futon.

But progress is PROGRESS, people, and we are more than slightly thrilled.

I was originally thinking we should celebrate this momentous occasion with a party, complete with balloon animals that he could bark at incessantly and then eat, which was mostly a joke until I found THIS.

I was bummed to see we have already missed the all-day dog-laden event complete with massages and puppy psychic readings, but not quite as crestfallen as I am that we missed the event entitled “The Ball is Out There.”

Oh, how I love this city.
