ohmygosh, those are adorable! i LOVE all of your little bikinis :). i distinctly remember, when i was probably around the same age of you in these pictures, my mom and i had matching bikinis. they were made of terrycloth (i know, for a swimsuit?!?) that was electric blue with yellow piping around the edges. i’m sure my parents have a picture somewhere, but it’s clear ask the sky (here today, anyways!) in my mind.
if my mind is working correctly on this early Saturday morning, i believe it’s around birthday-time for you? hope it is (or was) happy!
Most of our summer pics as kids would involve camping or being at the pool. Good times! Loved these pics.
I love this! Why were our childhoods filled with days upon days of swimming, sunning, and playing while our respective adulthoods find us with nothing of the sort?! Oh nostalgia…maybe the long beach/lake days return when we actually have kids of our own? Thank you for sharing!
We spent our summers driving our truck and camper to lakes full of trout. Those photos make me want to dig mine out!
Yep, that’s about what my summers looked like, growing up in the NW. Although I think I spent a good deal of time swimming in the rain.
Okay, first of all? Love the birthday banner!

And, I’m on my way to visit the beach house now!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :)
i love this post.
happy birthday lady.
Those pictures are priceless. Really.
My summers looked like bicycles and slurpees and really dirty lakes and tubing behind a boat and eating crackers on the deck of my friend’s grandma’s cabin. Also, Bible camp and campfires and hot crushes on stupid boys.
Awwww - I love this post!!! I actually posted a pretty cute pic today of me and Kyle enjoying summer. Good times.
I love the pics! Hope your birthday was wonderful!
Great photos! I really loved the buried in sand one - too fun!
Summers when I was a kid involved lots and lots of horse shows. In fact, when I had to pick out some childhood photos for our wedding video, almost every single one contained a pony.
First time visiting your site. I grew up in Portland, and love love love the Oregon Coast…live in Seattle now. I had to comment at your childhood summer pics because of the Priest Lake photo…I too was in Priest Lake the summer of ‘91! Kalispell Island to be specific. Anyways, Hi from a fellow northwesterner!
