What follows is a true conversation that occurred yesterday afternoon. No names have been changed to protect the sometimes musically dim-witted:
“Ah, old Van Morrison. Yes.”
“Van Morrison. Of ‘The Doors’ right?”
“Um, no honey. That’s JIM Morrison.”
“Oh, right. I always! get them confused.”
“Because Van Morrison sounds NOTHING like Jim Morrison?”
“No, because they have the SAME LAST NAME.”
“Wow. I’m so glad we’re in the car and no one could hear you just compare Van Morrison to Jim Morrison, based solely on their last names.”
