Running-Related Aside
I actually really like! running in the rain. Which is beyond convenient, seeing as how I picked the onslaught of winter to begin Operation: Better! Stronger! Faster! Kerri (O:BSFK for short), and “winter” in Portland means “gallons of rain, dumped from the heavens that exist to shower us with rain. Oh and also, have some more rain, thanks.”
Running in the rain reminds me of being seven, and being allowed to jump in every puddle in sight with no thought as to how it’s going to wreck your hair, or your face, or whatever you might happen to be wearing. Running in the rain is CHILDLIKE FREEDOM, personified. It’s also sometimes cold, which is why I wear I wear a (bright pink) hat (for visibility! and) to keep my head warm. Also, fingerless gloves, which are (so old and gnarly, but still) my favorite of all outerwear accessories.
On a related note, I need to find some waterproof running pants. I’m thinking something like this:

Or perhaps some always attractive waders would do the trick:

Running-related aside to my aside: I promise this isn’t turning into a (gasp!) running blog; I’m just a tad consumed (see also: motivated) right now, and I’m running with it. (Ha! That was completely unintentional but oh, how I love puns. In March, remind me to tell you my favorite St. Patrick’s Day joke. No, really. It’s awesome. Chris LOVES IT when I tell that joke.)

I think you should wear the waders. And then photograph people’s reactions.
Also, my birthday is on St. Patty’s Day and I think you should tell the joke.

You are the first person I’m telling that joke to on St. Patrick’s Day, definitely.
Those disembodied waders are freaking me out.
Also, yay to you for keeping up with the running!

Aren’t they creepy? I was hoping someone else would notice how they tried to blow a body into them.
Seriously, the motivation is inspiring. Don’t apologize for it!
I love the rain. I think Portland would be a good home for me.

Yes, I agree. MOVE HERE. I too verily love the rain, which I why I don’t mind our prolonged rainy season. The shades of grey can get tough but it’s BEAUTIFUL today, and we get sun breaks quite often. Plus! the reason everything is so green here? RAIN. So really I don’t mind at all.
I like the waders…I’ll bet you would get great times in those.
Those are the sexiest pair of waders I have ever seen.
When I used to run (it was like a 4-month stint and then I lost my job and got lazy) I loved running in the rain!
Keep up the good work!
Waders sans shirt. Now that’s a look!
I am cracking up at the idea of you running in those waders!!
I don’t think I’ve ever gone running in the rain. I do love the rain though. In true rocky mountain form, I love running in the cold. Snow-on-the-ground, need-a-scarf-around-your-mouth cold. Love. But I think I’d like running in the rain too.
If you go running in hip waders, I SO NEED TO SEE PHOTOS.
I love running in the rain too. I find it’s there to challenge me and I’m all BRING IT…
I like the waterproof running pants actually, those are awesome.
Me and my hubby love running even in the rain.
After we celebrated our 10th anniversary last weekend and he surprised me with a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings from http://www.idonowidont.com we had a long run on the beach in the rain.
I wouldn’t wear those waders, they look too bulky!
